Saturday: Onward to Sochi!

You'll have to excuse the lack of a significant discussion about the recent national team jersey unveilings here. There's a good reason for that: I always write this part of the post last and I'm finishing this up late at night. This post will go onto the blog 90 minutes before I get off of work. I will add in a discussion of the jerseys after I get home. Ahem. As it pertains to the new US jerseys, I have to say that I like them. They're certainly different from what we've come to expect from Nike's offerings from the US in the past. Nike has always gone in a somewhat modern direction for the US with some exceptions and it's nice to see them give the US an older fauxback-ish look. I have to say that I'm not a fan of the fake tie-down collar, since the transparent flywire doesn't look good on a hockey jersey. It doesn't look good on a football jersey either. It just doesn't look good period. Also, the barely-visible stars on the yoke aren't good either. If you're going to have stars on a blue background on a US jersey, it's almost a given that they have to be white. Come on! All that being said, though, I like the jerseys quite a bit. I especially like the crest. With the IOC rules prohibiting the use of national federation logos, I was expecting the return of the simple block USA we saw in Vancouver, but they decided to go with an old-school crest instead and it looks great. It brings to mind the crest on the US soccer national teams' centennial kits and those look great too. All in all, I think the jerseys are both going to look good on the ice and they're going to look even better with a gold medal hanging around our players' necks.

You hear that, Ryan? That gold medal is ours this time! OURS! We will have our revenge!

--------

Toronto Marlies (by Andrew)

Ah, the Marlies. Unique amongst AHL teams for being the only team to be located in the same city as their parent team. Some come close, but none as close as the Marlies. While I definitely prefer the Marlies' proper logo to the Duke of Marlborough's crown logo, this look works well. It's not too close to the Leafs' look, which helps. There are some teams that look good looking like their parent clubs but in my opinion, the Marlies should stand on their own aesthetically. Overall, I'll give it an 8/10.

Tampa Bay Lightning (by Brent)

Now this one is interesting. Brent's gone in a conservative-but-not-conservative-in-the-way-they're-currently-conservative direction for the Lightning. This gets a big point from me for not being a Maple Leafs ripoff like the Lightning's current look, since Steve Yzerman is obsessed with playing Original Six dress-up. It's an unusual look for an NHL team since the wordmark-only look isn't too common in the pros and is more along the lines of a college look. It works here, though. One minor critique: there are no sleeve numbers on either jersey. That's just a minor oversight. Overall, I'll give it an 8/10.

San Jose Sharks (by Brian)

This an improvement over what the Sharks did for one big reason: the hem stripe. Quite frankly, the Sharks look like crap for having removed the hem stripes from their jerseys. I still don't like the single orange stripe per overall stripe but adding back the hem stripe makes this better. Overall, I'll give it an 8.5/10.

Kent State Golden Flashes (by Dylan W.)

Ah, I love seeing college concepts. I also love when concept creators remember to put the white jersey first, since the NCAA rules state that the home team wears white. It's the little things that count. This look is quite appropriate for a team whose mascot happens to be some strange eagle/lightning hybrid, and it's exactly the kind of unusual modern design you'd expect from a school that isn't an NCAA powerhouse - though Kent State, like my alma mater Arizona, plays club hockey in the ACHA. I'd say the only problem with this one is the wordmark. It's so small that it's almost unnecessary. I'd remove it. Overall, I'll give it an 8/10.

Hamilton Tigers (by Stephen)

Ah, the Tigers. A team for which the barberpole look is particularly appropriate. If the team was revived in the modern day, it's not unreasonable to think they'd be wearing something like this. Issues about another NHL team probably not working right in the Leafs' backyard aside, I really like this concept because the striping is so right for this team. My only issue lays with the tie-down collar, and I have the same issue with the Senators' current alternate: the Tigers (and the old Senators) never wore a tie-down collar. A standard collar would look better, in my opinion. Overall, I'll give it an 8/10.

Ottawa Senators (by Steven)

Speaking of barberpoles... Steven continues his de-Edge series by taking on the Leafs' Ontario neighbors. I really like the moderate barberpole design here since it harkens back to the old Senators while also tying into some of the Senators' past designs before they got that Edge mess they currently wear. My personal preference for the 3D centurion logo aside, this is a good look. I like that the Peace Tower logo was brought back as the shoulder patch. Overall, I'll give it an 8.5/10.

Ottawa Nationals (by Ted)

And we close today with Ottawa's other other top-level pro team, the short-lived Ottawa Nationals, who provided Ottawa with a brief respite from not having a pro team during the long hiatus between the old Senators and the new Senators. Regrettably, they lasted only one season. Ted's concept imagines if the WHA had survived to this day and adopted the Reebok Edge jerseys, which I imagine they would have. Either that, or Nike would have gotten the exclusive contract, what with being a Reebok competitor and all that. This one's good since it's an improvement over what the Nationals actually wore. No complaints. Overall, I'll give it a 9/10 and a COTW nomination.

Friday: Springfield or Bust

Well, I have made it back to school in Springfield, MA - home of the AHL's Falcons and AHL headquarters. Speaking of AHL headquarters, I am enrolled in a  PR/Marketing class with it's commissioner, David Andrews, on my campus every Wednesday night for two and a half hours! A lot of people who have taken his class have gone on to to their internships with him and eventually landed full time jobs with him. Pretty neat. Back on the ranch here on HJC, I most importantly have reminders for you below!

-----------------------------------
COTW Aug 19-25 vote (ends tonight @ 11:59pm Eastern)
-----------------------------------

Boise State University (Dylan W.)

It seems like a typical design for a Nike SWIFT NCAA uniform set. It also reminds me of team Poland's fashion jerseys in world soccer (still not proven to be game worn). The whole design from the logo to the gradients make a lot of sense. But that doesn't mean I like it. But I can just picture these being on the ice and being well receptive. Riding an 8.5 out of 10.

Los Angeles Kings (Tom)

Tom gives us a Kings alternate that focuses on the purple. There are two possibilities with the piping that I'd be okay with: either only use the body striping not whats along the shoulders or my preference of getting rid off it completely. I do believe that LA is a team that can pull it off, but not this way. I don't mind the white on it, but I might add black to either the cuffs or the shoulders. Royalty is born, 9 out of 10.

Edmonton Oilers (Brent)

The background doesn't distract me too much, but I lose the orange shoulders and hem a little bit. I do like the increased amount of orange in the colored uniform. I also do not see any TV numbers, which would help break up the shoulders tremendously. The pants give me trouble but aren't the focus. Despite the additional blue, the white jersey seems a bit bland - a historical and typical Edmonton feature. An 8 out of 10 for the fortune.

Montreal Canadiens (Stephen T.)

Well this one certainly is simple. I guess I'll start off by saying that I can't do the white helmet with the white uniform. I want to say use a red one instead, but the blue one may work too. I am not a fan of the nameplates for this because it only looks good on one of the jerseys but not both. Also, the numbers need at least one but probably a double outline as they get lost a little in the chest stripe. A 7 out of 10 overall.

Big Rapids HS, MI (Alex J.)

These are pretty good for a high school team. I don't happen to like the way the color looks, but it isn't the school or Alex's fault. The Arsenal FC/Canucks font is a good choice as far as not using ordinary block numbers. That alternate logo doesn't woo me, but I can live with it. Speaking of which, I'm pretty sure most if not all high schools don't need alternate uniforms. Though since you included one, I'd like to see it in blue. This snatches a 7.5 out of 10.

Univ. of South Florida Bulls (Dylan W.)

I'll tell you what, I like these much better than what they currently have The idea of the hem consisting of the logo is a very clever idea. The gold is the tricky part of designing uniforms for USF, and Dylan has done it in succession.I'm not sure how I feel about the number selection, but there could be much, much worse. Ole, an 8.5 out of 10.

New York Rangers (Steven G.)

Continuing his De-Edge series Steven gives us A simpler version of everything. He even takes away part of the classic jersey on the whites, which I'm okay with it not because that was a little advanced for pre-1978, but since it isn't toned down completely. Also the decision to keep this particular logo was an excellent choice. Even though the blue is present on the yoke, I would use the blue helmet and perhaps use a red one for the blue jersey. An 8 out of 10 for this one.

-------------------------------------------

Well moving in was a success and now it's time for a Maine getaway with my folks before Wednesday kicks in. Enjoy your weekend and "hockey, ahoy!"

Thursday: USA! USA!

Hello everybody and welcome to HJC! Today we have concepts to get too, as always. But first, Nike unveiled new uniforms for Team Russia and Team USA for the 2014 Olympics (in Sochi). Here are the Team USA jerseys.

I'm not going to give some huge review, but I guess they're ok. The sublimated stars are cool, but the fake lace-up things are just weird, why are they even there? Will they even be close to visible on the ice? I don't know, but I sure hope not. I'm looking forward to more concepts and other countries that have jerseys yet to be unveiled.

-------------------------------------------------------------

**Edit by Ryan**
Chris has gotten back to me and the winner of the Hawthorne PD Youth Jersey Competition is Antonio C!
Antonio, I sent you an email as Chris would like to get in contact regarding the jersey. Congrats Anthony and thank you to everyone who entered.

I still haven't heard heard from Brian regarding the winner of the Warrior Cup Challenge jersey...

-------------------------------------------------------------

We REALLY need your votes. Take a minute right now and send in your COTW vote.

COTW Aug 19-25 vote (ends Friday @ 11:59pm Eastern)

-------------------------------------------------------------

Team Canada concept (By: Kyle N.)

Kyle starts us off with hey, a Team Canada concept! As the Olympics near, we're going to see more and more of these and this one is cool. I love the double red and gold color scheme. The striping is cool. I wish there was a bit more dark red on the white jersey though. Great concept.

Rating: 8/10

Calgary Flames concept (By: Brent P.)

The Flames, I feel, are going to be one of the next teams that will get new uniforms (maybe next off-season?). They should definitely cut down on the black, and Brent does that here. Although, if you're going to have black pants and a black helmet, there needs to be some black somewhere on the jersey. I like the yokes, but I'm not a big fan of the striping. Good idea, but it needs some work.

Rating: 7/10

Admiral Vladivostok KHL concept (By: Frank C.)

Our KHL concept of the day, Frank brings us this concept for Admiral Vladivostok. The striping is simple and classic, the yokes look good. The font is awesome and the jerseys fit in perfectly with the logos. Great job, love seeing KHL concepts.

Rating: 8.5/10

Rytiri Kladno Czech Extraliga concept (By: Coby S.)

Not very often we see Czech concepts, but we get too see one today! I like the "cross" thing that is going on here, but there is some execution issues. First of all, the NHL logo should be removed from the collar insert and the tag inside the collar. Also, the number on the back is very small and there should be some TV numbers. This concept could be better with some minor execution fixes.

Rating: 6.5/10

Florida Panthers concept (By: Tom V.)

We finish today with three NHL concepts, and here is our first, an interesting Panthers concept. They retired their "JetBlue" third jersey this past season and I'm glad to see it go. Well, I can say that this concept is very "modern". Fans would never like something like this, but I think it's cool. The vertical striping is cool. The TV numbers in a circle look weird. Huge props for creativity and execution, but I can tell that something like this would be hated.

Rating: 8/10

Calgary Flames concept (By: Jets96)

Our second Flames concept of the day, these jerseys by Jets96 throw back to their uniforms from 1995 to 1998. I love these, the striping is awesome, and the pants are the best, they remind me of the Jacksonville Jaguars new pants. And man, that black alternate with the flaming horse logo is just awesome. Great job all around here, would definitely take these over their current jerseys. Although I would like to see some more black in the home and road collars, and some white in the alternate collar.

Rating: 9/10 and a COTW nom from me

Boston Bruins concept (By: Stephen T.)

Stephen updates the Bruins uniforms and to be honest, I don't like any of the changes made. The new striping is weird, the pants with the white stripe look out of place, the road collar looks weird, the logo with a white outline looks weird, everything just looks weird. Sorry, but I'm not a fan.

Rating: 5/10

Also, this will be my last HJC post. I am getting more and more busy with school and just don't have the time and energy to write anymore. I want to thank everyone here at HJC, and Ryan for giving me the opportunity to write for this site. Have a good Friday and weekend!

Wednesday: Olympics Excitement is Starting!

Hey there everyone! A lot to get to today so let's get to it.

Since there's no contest this week, only one reminder for you.
COTW Aug 19-25 vote (ends Friday @ 11:59pm Eastern)

Photo: Nikeblog.com
So let's start today off by looking at 2 jerseys set to be used in the upcoming Olympics. Firstly, let's look at the host, Team Russia. First thing that I notice is the obvious difference between the two jerseys. The red is a very traditional jersey with the Russian flag on the arms in between two thin gold lines. Now, the white jersey is way out there. It's very very "Nike". It uses the top part of the normal crest and blows it up and is used as a major component in the design of the jersey.
Photo: Nikeblog.com
The red jersey is my favorite of the two, but who knows maybe the white will grow on me... doubt it... Something I'm noticing in the picture of the red jersey to the right, is that the jersey looks a lot like an actual sweater. I haven't seen anywhere on whether or not the jersey cut is the Nike Swift jersey or something new.
Photo: Nikeblog.com
The one thing about the white jersey I would change to make it a bit better would be to get rid of the wings on the shoulders. It took me a while of looking at it to notice the red at the end of the sleeves is actually the bottom of the two headed eagle wings. I'm really interested in seeing this jersey in action, but I'm hoping that we see the red jersey more than this one.

So a quick rating of the Russia uniforms would be 7/10

The red jersey is definitely the highlight of the set and is also definitely more than a 7/10, but that white jersey is bringin' it down.
Now let's get to the USA!
Photo: Nikeinc.com
First impressions, a bit busier than the 2010 US jerseys. The stars are an ok touch, it's something that I've seen done on a few concepts here on the site. The striping is still a bit boring for my taste, the blue jersey's striping is alright, I would like to see the stripes lower on the arms. But the white jersey is prety neat with the blue top and white bottom. But the arms and hem look very empty to me, A hem stripe would help both jerseys out. My favorite part though, is the crest. You might also notice the "Flywire" neckline, similar to the new NFL nike jerseys necks, the Flywire necks are meant to look like classic tie down jersey collars but it's kind of pointless.

Photo: Nikeinc.com

The crest is a huge improvement over the letters that have been on the chest of the US jerseys for awhile. These jerseys, including the crest, bring the Mens US Soccer team centennial jerseys to mind, which is good because, I might not be a soccer fan, but I am a huge fan of those uniforms. I'm considering buying a USA jersey with one of the Blackhawks' name and number.
Nike is also getting in on the "Hanger Effect" craze adding the years the US has won gold medals. But they've also added "Land of the Free, Home of the Brave" on the inside of the neckline, only visible when putting the jersey on.
So quick rating of the USA jerseys, 8/10
Very very classy, a good look for the Olympics, but if these were to be used more, I would want to see more interesting striping, or at the very least, hem stripes.

Now to the concepts of the day!

Toronto Maple Leafs Alternate Jersey Concept - (Frank C.)
This looks like a cross between the Leafs' 2008-11 alternate and their current home jersey, and I'm liking it. The crest seems a bit oversized. And I'm not so hot on the darker shade of blue. You shrink the crest to a normal size and use the normal blue and I see a really good alternate jersey, but not better than their current alternate, which remains as one of my favorite jerseys in the league.

Rating: 8/10

Seattle Thunder Birds (WHL) Concept - (Matt M.)
Matt updates the Seattle Thunder Birds identity with this very solid logo and set of jerseys. The only things I'm seeing that I'd do away with is the number underneath the collar, and the busy pants striping. Speaking of striping, I'd try using no silver in the striping. The silver seems dull, so I'd make that blue so there's only 4 stripes with a gap in between them. That could make the pants look a little better too. The logo is solid though. I really like it. Also, silver numbers on a blue jersey doesn't seem right, I'd use white numbers with silver trim.

Rating: 8.5/10

New York Islanders De-Edge Series - (Steven G.)
These resemble the Penguins last Winter Classic Jerseys, but I really like it in these colors. I wouldn't mind seeing this set of jerseys edgified. This is also probably one of the best concepts in this series. The thing I'm liking about this is the nod to the Islanders dynasty (4 stripes - 4 championships) and how the jerseys look like throwbacks. If you look at it, you can totally see this being work 20-30 years ago.

Rating: 10/10 literally a perfect Islanders concept in my eyes. COTW nom as well. Please Edgeify these!

New England Whalers (WHA) Concept - (Ted N.)
First off, make the images bigger or save them with a higher resolution. It's impossible to see some of the smaller details because when blown up the image is very blurry. I've gone on record and said that the arm striping used here is one of my least favorites, so right off the bat, I'd rather see those stripes moved further down the arm. I'm ok with the "horned" template but it's pretty generic.

Rating: 6/10

Carolina Hurricanes Concept - (Jets96 - HJC)
Our Monday writer Jets takes a shot at the newly rebranded Hurricanes. He keeps the flag pattern while simplifying the arm stripes. He also uses the new font they use on their jerseys. I'd like to see the
Nike-esque yoke on these. I don't care for the white jersey's flag pattern being white. The alternate jersey could be better. Use white for the name and numbers and use the normal logo, not your recolored one.

Rating: 7/10

Chicago Blackhawks Concept - (Jets96 - HJC)
Jets also gives the Blackhawks new jerseys and he doesn't change a lot. The white jersey is virtually unchanged besides the solid black collar, which I don't like. The red jersey's arms now match the hem socks and also has a black collar, again, don't like the collar. The one place the collar is ok is the new alternate. I'd prefer a normal Blackhawks two-toned collar. The striping is decent on the black jersey but the pants striping now seems out of place. I also don't like the "C" logo on the arm striping. I'd rather see it on the shoulders.

Rating: 6.5/10

That's the post for today, let's get some conversation going in the comments today everybody!

August 27, 2013

Tuesday: College Post

First day writing a post for HJC at college. I started classes yesterday, and I have a lot of free time in the morning before my first class, so it's a perfect time to critique jerseys. Or do homework..........nah, jerseys sound more fun.

COTW Aug 19-25 vote (ends Friday @ 11:59pm Eastern)

-----------------------------------------------------

Iowa Wild concept - (Andrew G.)
Andrew makes somewhat minor changes to the home jersey for the Iowa Wild, but makes some decent changes to the away. I'm not sure if I like the antique white as a whole for a jersey, I really do think the plain white makes those jerseys look a lot better. But this is a thing I see a lot, and I have done myself. See I like putting the red stripe in the middle for the green jersey, because you can point it out. On the white jersey though it seems like it's fighting the green stripes for attention and it's hard to see it. Although I wouldn't know how to fix it. Maybe make the gap a little bigger so you have some white in between it. Everything else I like. Concept Rating [8/10]

Team Germany Concept - (Stephen T.)
See, I still don't know how I feel about the vertical striping right after the yoke. Especially on the white jersey. On the black jersey I can like it more because it looks like just striping, but on the white jersey I think after the yoke just turning into the striping looks weird. But that's a NIKE jersey for ya. For the most part I think it's a good jersey. Maybe the crest is a little too big, and doesn't look centered, but that would be my only bash on execution. Concept Rating [7.5/10]

Sudbury Wolves Concept - (Phil B.)
I love this color scheme, and it's really hard to mess it up and make a jersey look bad. But Sudbury in my opinion does with their current uniforms. Fortunately Phil doesn't do that here. The alternate logo is definitely my preferred choice of logo for this team, I think that looks sharp. But the white and silver striping pattern I think looks even better. I want to see this jersey without the silver outline on the shoulder/arm stripe I think that could make a nice difference, small, but nice. Anyway, good looking jersey right here. Concept Rating [8.5/10]

Michigan Wolverines Concept - (Matt M.)
NO BLUE!!! Coming from a Buckeyes fan, I'm going to love bashing Matt on this concept. Kidding of course, because it is a good concept. I do like the idea with the shoulder, but I would say keep it to three stripes on each side. It seems like theres too much going on there, and would look better matching the arms. I think the no hem could work here, and I like the stitching inside the logo. Gives it a different feel. Concept Rating [8.5/10] 9 if the shoulder striping was 3.

London Knights Concept - (Kyle N.)
Hmmmmm......Hmmmmmm..... I'm going to be honest. At first glance I hated this. I looked at it for a couple of minutes then ended up loving it. Just to get the negative out of the way. I think the numbers on the away jersey should be white, and I think the alternate's green and gold don't look good together, either a lighter gold, or darker green. Anyway, I think the striping looks fantastic with these colors and how they are used. Everything stands out, and looks nice. I'm not sure how Knight fans would feel about it, but I would like to see the home and road on the ice. Concept Rating [9/10]

Detroit Red Wings Concept - (Jets96)
Jets makes minor changes to the home and road jerseys, as it should be. So I won't talk much about those. The alternate however, is something I've never seen and is really out there in terms of Red Wings jerseys. First glance, I saw the half side panel coloring and hated it. And with the yoke staying white I thought the whole thing looks super weird. then I noticed the 'wing' idea here. (At least I hope this is what you're going for) and I kind of appreciated it more. I applaud Jets to take a stab at something not traditional for the wings. I'm still half and half on the alternate here, but that's just me. Concept Rating [7.5/10]

Buffalo Sabres Concept - (Jets96)
No....not the.....slug.......no.......... Hm. I know some of you have the feeling for the slug, but I'm not one of them. So sorry Jets, I'm going to give this a no go. But anyone who likes the slug should review this for Jets since I'm probably not qualified. I'm taking the slug off the jersey and just critiquing the jersey right now. Jersey wise, this is something I wouldn't mind seeing, although I'm in love with the Sabres current jerseys (without the silver, or gray) That being said though, I wouldn't mind seeing a silver alternate thought. I think that could be cool. Pretty original when it comes to the NHL, and I don't think anyone would see it happening. I think I could like it. I think there needs to be more gold in it though. The top half of it seems a little dull. Concept Rating [8/10] 6.5 with the slug, but I think that's unfair. You made me not hate the slug as much with this design Jets, kudos.

Hopefully I wasn't too harsh today, but again, I'm expressing MY opinion. I think that's something we should all keep in mind when reading posts. Not everyone will like what you make. That's the glory of designing though, you can make anything.

Have a great Tuesday, and to anyone starting school, good luck this year.

Monday: A Well Relaxed Post

Here, coming at you live from my laptop, a very relaxed Jets96!

Hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of the last week of "Summer" before we all hit the books in the school world, or just going back to work next Tuesday!

Here are your voting reminders:

COTW Aug 19-25 vote (ends Friday @ 11:59pm Eastern)

San Jose's jersey's have been unveiled, so I feel I should talk about them and give my thoughts. I love the teal jersey, but the lack of hem striping is distracting, yes the often praised black jersey didn't have it, but, at least a piping trim on the bottom of the jersey would help make it less boring (take a look at Washington, 2007-2010 Islanders, L.A. Kings Home, Calgary etc). I also think the beautiful Shark Fin logo is suffering the same treatment as the Sens Side profile logo, and should be used asap as a shoulder patch. The players wanted a "lighter" jersey, which, I can understand, and maybe a hem stripe can get caught on gear, maybe? Never the less, the players are the ones who wear them every game, so if they prefer no hem stripe, so be it.

It has been a year since I began writing for HJC, and I want to thank everyone on the blog. This has been a great year and hopefully will be here this time next year when I leave Ontario for University in Nova Scotia. Thanks Ryan for giving me the opportunity to write, my fellow writers and former writers: Dylan A., Dylan W., Tyler G., Ricky M., Kevin W., Colin M., Thallos and Steven G.! Thanks to all the artists who I have critiqued and everyone who has read the blog every Monday this past year. Thank you!

On to the concepts:

Columbus Blue Jackets Concept (By: Brian B.)

The Blue Jackets are ready for a playoff season this year, with big time signings and a vezina winning goaltender with a cool name. A Faux-Back is a great idea for this team, as their colours work well with vintage white as well as modern elements like the font. I like the stars all over the jersey and the vintage yoke looks great. I'm not sure the red cuffs are necessary, but they aren't horrible. I love this idea, and it shows the Blue Jackets don't need double blue to look good. (9/10)

Warrior Cup Concepts (By: Caden P.)

The Warrior Cup contest was a big success and I can't wait to see the jersey the team chooses of the 3 finalist. Aside from the execution errors, which are easily correctable, but the fill bucket striping should be more complex. Try looking at the templates page for templates with striping. Don't give up on concepts though, My first concept was way worse, I can't even find it..I will someday, but checkout the tutorials section (4/10)

Winnipeg Jets Concept (By: Dylan W.)

Umm...Oh, now I see it, the jersey is based on the logo, and I like it. The chest stripe with the logo sticking out looks great, and I really like the arm band, along with the matching hem really does resemble the logo. I think more white could be useful, on the hem and arm band. I think a creative Jets alternate is a great idea, and I'm feeling logo inspired for other teams. (8/10)

Warrior Cup Concepts (By: Kevin W.)

Another Warrior Cup concept, this time from Saturday Writer Kevin W.. I like the patriotic themes going on here, as well as the non-matching striping. The stripes really do resemble the American Flag and I like how the stripes are always red and white and the stars are always white and blue. I don't like how unbalanced the colours are on between the two jerseys, but at the same time, I understand why, they are not meant to match persay. (8.5/10)

New Jersey Devils Concepts (By: Steven G.)

This de-edge makes sense to me, I can clearly see the two eras of Devils jerseys combined into one. The original striping is cool, but the new colours keep things classic. One thing I love from the green jerseys were the two stripe yokes, and I'd love to see those come back. (9/10)

Arizona Coyotes Concepts (By: Jets96)

I made these next two concepts so I'll leave you to comment on them.

Florida Panthers Concepts (By: Jets96)

Have a great Monday!
